My husband recently bought a brand new, sealed Intel NUK 11th gen from a private seller since it’s tough to find stock in Israel. Sadly, when we opened the box at the office, we found that the nvme socket on the board was broken and loose. We reached out to Intel right away, thinking their advertised 3-year warranty would sort things out quickly and get us a replacement computer.

But dealing with Intel's customer service has been a real hassle. We’ve been messaging back and forth with Ionut for the last three days. At first, he told us they wouldn’t honor the warranty because we couldn’t show proof of purchase from an official distributor. Then, he mentioned that Intel has no stock of this item and could only give us a refund credit of $422.17. We’re not sure what that means, but in Israel, the cheapest device from their 'official' distributor costs over $600.

We’ve made it clear that all we want is either a replacement or a refund that matches the cost of getting a replacement locally, not some credit from another country. Unfortunately, it feels like our requests are just being ignored. We’ve now taken this up with a supervisor and will keep you posted on how it goes. So far, this has been a terrible experience, one we didn’t expect from a big name like Intel.

This is the one company that has reliably offered value to gamers over the last few years, keeping a solid net profit margin since they started. I’m really rooting for them to outdo Nvidia in the GPU scene.

The assistance from this company is really disappointing, taking weeks for a response. If you buy a computer from them, they demand you use only their parts and won’t help if you think about using third-party options. It seems pretty probable that many of the glowing 5-star reviews come from Intel staff. If you're thinking about making a purchase, just know they provide zero support and care only about your cash.
